The OpportunityThe Project Engineer (Military and Government Projects) – Airfield Lighting Control Systems will serve as a technical lead for the planning, design, commissioning, and support of airfield lighting control system projects. This role is responsible for translating customer requirements into control system drawings, HMI software configurations, bills of material, and project documentation while ensuring alignment with FAA requirements, system architecture standards, and project‑specific compliance needs as well as DOD Cybersecurity Requirements.
The position requires close collaboration with customers, internal engineering teams, commissioning personnel, and external stakeholders throughout the full project lifecycle. The Project Engineer will support system start‑up, testing, commissioning, customer training, and troubleshooting at airport installations, with national and international travel required. This role is well suited for a technically strong, customer‑facing engineer with experience in control systems, electrical systems, aviation infrastructure, or related fields.

- Takes the technical lead on airfield lighting control system projects planning, executing and meeting strict deadlines.
- Designs control system drawings and HMI software to meet the customers system requirements.
- Assists in developing bills of material for custom control system quotes after analyzing customer requirements.
- Responsible for communicating and promoting company image to the airport lighting industry during system installation and training.
- Travels nationally or internationally to airport installations as required for project start‑up, commissioning, testing and training.
- Performs technical training classes for advanced products to internal and external customers.
- Responsible for becoming familiar with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) airport policies, procedures and products.
- Responsible for maintaining DOD Cybersecurity compliance documentation and understanding system architecture, as well as deviations.
- Travels 25% to 30% of the time.
- Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering (EE) or Engineering Technology (EET), Computer Science (CS) or Computer Engineering Technology (CET) preferred or relevant experience in the airfield/aviation lighting industry.
- 2+ years related Project Engineering experience or the equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Electrical troubleshooting and controls are a plus.
- Fluent English (oral and written communication skills).
- Possession of a valid driver’s license.
- Must maintain an insurable driving record.
- Must pass any required BCI and FBI Background Check.
