Job Summary
The Mechanical Modeling Engineer will support the National Space Intelligence Center (NSIC) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, OH. The role involves constructing highly detailed 3‑D geometric CAD models of foreign spacecraft, including static and dynamic characteristics, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑confidence solutions.

- Construct highly detailed 3‑D geometric CAD models of multiple foreign spacecraft.
- Draft notional capabilities of satellite components.
- Model components or entire vehicles.
- Produce high confidence answers to space system problems.
- Perform all-source intelligence research, analysis, and assessments with Intelligence Community tradecraft standards.
- Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering (or similar) with 4+ years of relevant experience or a Master’s with 2+ years of relevant experience – additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Active TS/SCI clearance.
- 2+ years experience with Solid Works, NX, Catia, or similar 3‑D CAD modeling software.
- Industry or government experience in 3‑D CAD/CAE.
- Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to work individually and with teams.
- Experience with satellite system design, layout, or systems engineering.
- Experience with aerospace industry standards and best practices.
- Experience with U.S. Intelligence Community standards and procedures.
- Experience at NASIC or NSIC with 3‑D CAD Intelligence Community models.
