Your mission, roles and responsibilities

Overall responsibilities and duties:

  • Implement process control programs that assure production of finished goods meeting or exceeding customer‑specified requirements. Lead continuous improvements by utilizing appropriate quality tools and provide data analysis.
  • Conduct multiple projects simultaneously, ranging from feasibility phase to post‑launch quality assessment and throughout production life; reduce PPM, scrap, and overall Cost of Quality KPI’s.
  • Facilitate Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) with Engineering in conjunction with advanced quality‑planning activities and monitor the status throughout production life.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Statistical Process Control techniques.
  • Assure compliance of the documented quality system (ISO/TS16949 or IATF
    16949) and promote consistency throughout the organization.
  • Conduct investigations to determine causes of defects and make recommendations for corrective action.
  • Maintain customer complaint log and facilitate and participate in the corrective action process.
  • Instruct and train personnel in techniques including Seven Quality Basics and use of audit and testing devices.
  • Monitor and revise quality documentation as required.
  • Visit customers and suppliers when necessary.
  • Act as a liaison to internal and external customers.
  • Review all production methods for compliance to quality standards and for improvement of product and quality standards.
  • Perform all responsibilities with ISO/TS16949 or IATF
    16949 system requirements.
  • Validate gage studies with Mini Tab, lead DOE activities to replicate process/product failures; drive 5‑Y and QRCI processes, process capability improvements and GAP specific analysis of variable data.
  • All other tasks assigned.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have/be:

  • Minimum education level: bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Minimum of two (2) years automotive experience.
  • Exposure to Customer Interactions.
  • Industrial/Manufacturing Experience preferred.

Skills and competencies:

  • Strong analytical and proven team‑oriented problem solving skills required.
  • Strong customer satisfaction orientation.
  • In‑depth knowledge of quality engineering techniques.
  • In‑depth knowledge of Metrology, GD&T, PPAP/APQP, PFMEA, DOE, Capability & Gage Studies.
  • Alignment to Leadership

  • Above average communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Teamwork, Agility, Accountability.
