Amazon internships across all seasons are full‑time positions. Interns should expect to work in office, Monday‑Friday, up to 40 hours per week typically between 8am‑5pm. Specific team norms around working hours will be communicated by your manager. Interns should not have conflicts such as classes or other employment during the Amazon work‑day. Applicants should have a minimum of one quarter/semester/trimester remaining in their studies after their internship concludes.
You will be able to provide your preference of location and start date during the application process but we cannot guarantee that we can meet your selection based on several factors including availability and business needs of this role. Finalization on the location and start dates available will be provided to you at the time of job offer. Start dates for our internships in this posting include dates in August or September 2026.

Key Job Responsibilities- Serve as a technical resource within Amazon data centers, tackling challenges in designing, building, and operating data center facilities.
- Provide project oversight and review of all disciplines including electrical, mechanical, controls, and architectural. Identify areas for improvement and act on data from other teams and organizations.
- Design, develop, and deploy innovative solutions to address operational challenges.
- Contribute independently and collaborate within multi‑disciplinary teams.
- Improve electrical, mechanical, fire detection, and building automation systems.
- Work hands‑on in one of our data centers in Virginia, Oregon, Ohio, Texas, Georgia, or Washington. Daily onsite hours could begin as early as 6am.
- Maintain a driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel amongst data centers in your assigned area.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, people, and teams with a high level of customer service.
- Enrolled in an academic program physically located in the United States.
- Knowledge of Power Systems, Fluid Dynamics, or Thermodynamics.
- Experience using a variety of web‑based and other software tools for calculation and data processing.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Commit to 40 hours per week and a 12‑week internship.
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a similar field.
- Knowledge of commercial or industrial power systems or mechanical systems.
- Experience with AI/ML technologies.
- Prior relevant internship experience.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems.
- Strong analytic and problem‑solving skills.

The starting pay for this position ranges by location:
USA, GA, Atlanta - 96,000. USD annually
USA, OH, Columbus - 96,000. USD annually
USA, OH, Jeffersonville - 96,000. USD annually
USA, OR, Umatilla - 96,000. USD annually
USA, TX, Dallas - 96,000. USD annually
USA, VA, Herndon - 96,000. USD annually
