Job Description
This role focuses on designing and delivering high-quality electrical systems for new construction and renovation projects across educational, commercial, and healthcare facilities. The Electrical Engineer produces detailed construction documents, coordinates with multidisciplinary teams, and supports projects from initial design through construction, ensuring safe, efficient, and code-compliant electrical solutions.
Responsibilities
+ Design electrical systems for new buildings and renovation projects, including power distribution, lighting, telecommunications, fire alarm, and other building-related electrical systems.
+ Produce complete electrical construction documents, including drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
+ Prepare construction cost estimates for electrical systems and provide input to overall project budgeting.
+ Investigate existing site and building conditions for renovation projects to support accurate and constructible designs.
+ Perform electrical load calculations and size electrical equipment to meet project requirements and applicable codes.
+ Coordinate electrical systems with mechanical, plumbing, and architectural designs to ensure fully integrated building systems.
+ Process shop drawings, review submittals, and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) during the construction phase.
+ Conduct site visits during construction to observe installation, verify design intent, and support field issue resolution.
+ Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, project teams, and other stakeholders in both written and verbal form.
+ Prepare and deliver presentations or design reviews as needed to support project progress and client decision-making.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
+ At least 1 year of related experience in electrical design for new buildings and renovation projects.
+ Experience in designing power distribution systems for building projects.
+ Experience in designing interior and exterior lighting systems.
+ Experience in designing telecommunication systems for building applications.
+ Experience in designing fire alarm systems and other building-related electrical systems.
+ Experience working on educational, commercial, and healthcare facility projects.
+ Proficiency in AutoCAD for developing and modifying electrical drawings.
+ Proficiency in Revit for Building Information Modeling (BIM) and coordination with other disciplines.
+ Experience coordinating electrical systems with mechanical and plumbing systems and architectural design.
+ Strong verbal presentation and communication skills.
+ Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients and project stakeholders.
+ Ability to perform electrical load calculations and size electrical equipment.

Work Environment
This role supports projects in educational, commercial, and healthcare facilities, providing exposure to a diverse range of building types and electrical systems. You will work with modern design tools, including AutoCAD and Revit, in a professional office setting and collaborate closely with mechanical, plumbing, and architectural teams. The position involves a mix of office-based design work and periodic site visits to active construction and existing facilities.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
