Job Description
WSP is searching for a Senior Environmental Planner/Siting Specialist to work in one of our Cincinnati, Columbus, or Cleveland offices. Join our Earth & Environment Team to help solve client challenges and meet organizational objectives.
Your Impact- Plan, execute, and lead siting and routing studies for projects in the energy industry across Ohio and surrounding states.
- Gather background data, prepare siting and routing maps, and document findings for clients and agencies.
- Participate in public open‑house meetings and conduct windshield surveys.
- Document the siting process in defensible reports.
- Liaise with governmental agencies, clients, and team members.
- Provide guidance on state filing requirements and draft components for public utility applications.
- 5+ years of experience.
- Bachelor’s of Science in Environmental Science, Geology, or related field.
- Familiarity with routing/siting studies, PJM, MISO, and regional transmission boards.
- Excellent technical writing and clear communication skills.
- Ability to manage project teams and meet high‑quality deliverables.
- Willingness to travel for site visits and public meetings.
- Positive attitude, motivation, and commitment to timely completion.
- 5–10+ years of experience conducting siting and routing for transmission, substation, or renewable projects.
- Strong technical writing and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
- Project management experience with multiple projects and teams.

CompensationExpected Salary: $90,000 – $110,000 (all locations). Compensation may vary based on education, experience, skills, and specific geographic location.
