Computer Aided Design Technician

Our engineering firm client is seeking motivated Electrical CAD Technicians to support distribution projects within the utility space. This role will work closely with designers, engineers, and project managers on electrical distribution work (primarily supporting First Energy projects), contributing to the creation and revision of technical drawings.

This is an excellent entry-to-junior level opportunity for someone looking to grow within the utility engineering space and develop into future leadership roles.

• Create, update, and revise electrical distribution drawings using CAD software
• Support engineers, designers, and PMs across active T&D projects
• Interpret markups and redlines to produce accurate technical documentation
• Ensure drawings meet client and utility standards
• Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to meet project deadlines

• 6 months to 2 years of relevant CAD experience (utility or electrical preferred)
• Proficiency in one or more CAD tools:
• AutoCAD
• Associate’s degree or trade certification required
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate within a team

• Exposure to utility or electrical distribution projects
• Experience working in the utility or energy sector
• Interest or exposure to AI tools or automation in design workflows
• Demonstrated ambition to grow into leadership or advanced technical roles

• Degrees in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering are not eligible
• Acceptable degrees may include Engineering Technology or Chemical Engineering (non-design focused)

• Detail-oriented individuals who enjoy hands‑on technical work
