Immediate openings for an experienced Mechanical Field Service Engineer with this global manufacturing innovator in Columbus!
The Mechanical Field Service Engineer will provide hands‑on field support for custom automation equipment, involving troubleshooting and customer interaction.
The role requires working hands‑on at customer sites and at the company site, with travel to domestic and international locations.
Responsibilities- Install, service, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems and custom automation equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Perform adjustments, repairs, and retrofits.
- Provide technical guidance and instruction to customers.
- Complete detailed service reports.
- Perform engineering calculations, analyze engineering drawings and specifications.
- Produce and revise detailed drawings using AutoCAD and Solidworks.
- Specify replacement components.
This position may be contract-to-hire or direct hire. Pay is $80‑$110k annually, depending on experience, plus a 10% shift premium for travel. This is an on‑site role in the Polaris area of Columbus when not traveling.

Qualifications- 4+ years hands‑on experience supporting, servicing, and troubleshooting mechanical automation equipment, industrial systems, and custom machinery.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical system issues in the field.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical documentation, and similar.
- Willingness to travel 50‑60% annually domestically and internationally.
