The Associate Control Systems Consultant will serve as a technical resource to assist with control systems integration related to a large-scale Data Center construction project. This role is responsible for assisting with the design implementation, systems integration, commissioning, and validation of building automation and control systems.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as a technical resource for Building Automation Systems (BAS), EPMS, SCADA, and related control systems.
- Follow procedures that align with Owner standards, contract documents, and data center best practices.
- Participate in meetings related to controls integration across mechanical, electrical, and IT systems.
- Work with a large group to ensure project milestones are achieved per the schedule.
- Verify installation of control panels, instrumentation, field devices, and network infrastructure has been completed properly.
- Ensure proper integration between Chillers, cooling towers, CRAHs/CRACs.
- Ensure integration between UPS systems and switch gear.
- Ensure integration between Generators and ATS systems.
- Ensure integration with Power monitoring (EPMS).
- Support communications for connected control systems.
- Assign IP addresses to devices.
- Execute controls commissioning plans.
- Participate in point-to-point verification and I/O checkout.
- Assist to troubleshoot system deficiencies and coordinate corrective actions.
- Support FAT tests.
- Support Level 2 and 3 commissioning efforts.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or commensurate experience. Automation System training/certification a plus.
- Some knowledge of PLCs, Instrumentation and SCADA systems.
- Familiarity with network protocols (BACnet, Modbus, TCP/IP).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and control diagrams.
- Willingness to remain on-site full-time for project duration.
- 1-3 years of experience in data center or mission‑critical facility environments.
- Industrial experience.
- Rockwell and Ignition experience.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Proactive risk identification and mitigation.
- Ability to work in fast‑paced construction environments.
- Safety.
- Full-time on-site presence required for the duration of construction and commissioning.
- Active construction site environment.
- May require extended hours during commissioning and turnover phases.
- Foster and promote a strong safety culture and follow company safety protocols.
