Reliability Engineer
Walor North America is looking for a Reliability Engineer to join its Maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for improving equipment reliability, reducing unplanned downtime, and supporting long-term asset performance within a forging and machining manufacturing environment. This role works closely with maintenance, engineering, production, and quality teams to develop and implement reliability-centered maintenance strategies, analyze equipment failures, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that improve operational efficiency, safety, and productivity.
Whatyou will do
- Develop and implement reliability improvement strategies for forging, machining, and facility equipment.
- Analyze equipment failures, downtime trends, and maintenance data to identify root causes and corrective actions.
- Lead root cause analysis investigations for recurring equipment and process failures.
- Support preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance programs.
- Develop and optimize maintenance procedures, PM schedules, and equipment standards.
- Monitor and improve key maintenance and reliability KPIs including MTBF, MTTR, downtime, and PM compliance.
- Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to reduce unplanned downtime and improve equipment availability.
- Support troubleshooting of complex hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Assist with capital projects, equipment upgrades, and new equipment installations to improve long-term reliability.
- Evaluate equipment performance and recommend modifications or upgrades to improve reliability and maintainability.
- Support lubrication management, vibration analysis, thermography, and other predictive maintenance technologies.
- Maintain equipment history, reliability records, and technical documentation within the CMMS system.
- Assist with spare parts management and critical spare identification.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and company standards.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency and cost reduction.
- Provide technical guidance and training to maintenance and operations personnel.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of reliability engineering, maintenance engineering, or industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in forging, machining, automotive, steel, or heavy industrial manufacturing preferred.
- Strong knowledge of industrial equipment, maintenance systems, and reliability principles.
- Experience with root cause analysis methodologies and continuous improvement tools.
- Understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, mechanical, and automated systems.
- Experience using CMMS software and maintenance reporting systems.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and project management abilities.
- Reliability certifications such as CMRP or CRL preferred.
- Experience with predictive maintenance technologies including vibration analysis, infrared thermography, ultrasound, or oil analysis.
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or TPM experience.
- Familiarity with forging presses, CNC machining equipment, induction systems, furnaces, conveyors, robotics, and automated manufacturing systems.
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting and industrial controls.
- Knowledge of asset lifecycle management and maintenance planning strategies.
