Traveling Superintendent

Job Description

Projects will range from grocery stores, tractor facilities, restaurants, travel centers, car dealerships, and car washes. The position requires frequent travel year-round, with regular trips home every other weekend.

Responsibilities

+ Provide daily on-site supervision of subcontractors to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements.

+ Monitor contractor production, project schedules, and overall performance to maintain progress and quality standards.

+ Ensure contractors complete all assigned work on schedule and in alignment with project milestones.

+ Communicate the daily status of current projects to the Project Manager, including progress updates, issues, and potential risks, to keep projects timely and within company standards.

+ Report and address all potential safety concerns, incidents, and issues promptly, promoting a safe work environment for all personnel on site.

+ Certify that all submittals comply with contract requirements and project specifications before work proceeds.

+ Review plans and specifications to confirm that requirements are met for each construction process and phase of the project.

+ Review all material submittals to verify compliance with plans and specifications prior to installation.

+ Travel to project sites across the country and remain on site for the duration of each project, coordinating logistics as needed.

+ Collaborate closely with the broader construction management team to ensure consistent standards, practices, and client satisfaction across all projects.

Essential Skills

+ Ability to read and interpret civil and utilities drawings accurately and apply them in the field.

+ Capability to review and interpret construction plans, specifications, and material submittals for compliance with project requirements.

+ Experience using Procore construction management software is a plus, but not required.

Work Environment

+ $30 dollars per day for per diem (food)

+ $500 monthly vehicle allowance; individual will drive to the project at the start of it. When they are flown home, the firm will rent them a car for the weekend.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $50.48/hr.
