Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
The BIM/CAD Designer is responsible for accurately preparing, revising, and maintaining detailed drawings and models using computer-aided design (CAD) software for various structural and building projects. This position is responsible for adhering to company CAD standards and ensuring the timely and high-quality delivery of materials that meet client and project requirements.
Developing detailed 2D and 3D drawings and models based on design specifications and markups.
- Ensuring accuracy and adherence to company/client standards, codes, and project requirements.
- Assisting with the setup and maintenance of CAD files, templates, and standards.
Coordinating with project managers and engineers to ensure delivery is on schedule and on budget.
- Performing redline revisions and document updates.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to integrate design data across platforms.
Corporate planning contributes to or supports planning activities that affect the entire organization. Department planning entails establishing specific goals, budgets, staffing plans, and timelines that align with the department’s objectives.
- Support departmental goals through efficient and accurate production of drawings and models.
- Adhere to project timelines, budgets, and standards established by the department.
- Attend internal and project meetings as needed to ensure coordination and consistency.
Process of identifying, creating, and expanding opportunities that drive growth.
- Contributes to proposals, design presentations, and other client-facing materials that support company growth.
- Demonstrates the ability to adapt to the client or project manager’s needs quickly.
Coordinate, organize, and support projects to ensure they are complete, on time, within scope, and on budget. Focuses on administrative, documentation, and communication that enable teams to work efficiently and achieve objectives.
- Ensure projects are completed accurately and on time through organized documentation and coordination.
- Assist in developing templates, tools, or methods that improve accuracy or reduce production time.
- Assist in updating standards, workflows, or documentation that improve project delivery.
Application of technical knowledge and the use of specialized tools, software, or systems are required to perform job tasks efficiently and meet organizational goals.
- Apply knowledge of CAD software and tools (AutoCAD, Revit, Micro Station) to produce professional construction documents.
- Stay current with evolving CAD software, tools, and drafting techniques.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining company CAD standards.
The process and inspections used to ensure that all work meets established standards, specifications, and client requirements through the prevention, detection, and correction of errors.
- Review work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards before submittal.
- Collaborate with team members to identify and correct drawing discrepancies.
- Participate in QA/QC processes to maintain consistency across all drawings.
Supports the organization’s resources and facilities smooth administrative operations, enabling efficient operations.
- Contribute to a positive team environment by collaborating with peers and engineers.
- Maintain professional communication and uphold company policies and values.
- Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Annual training programs that support company objectives and employee growth.
- Participate in training opportunities to enhance CAD proficiency and stay current with technology.
Assumes responsibilities for special assignments delegated by management to support business or departmental needs.
Education And Experience- Associate degree in Computer-Aided Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.
