About this Role

As a Cost Specialist at QISG
, you’ll play a critical role on our Project Controls team, driving cost visibility and financial performance across complex utility, power generation, and renewable energy EPC projects
. You’ll own budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, variance analysis, and executive reporting — helping project teams make informed decisions and successfully deliver large-scale infrastructure projects across North America.

What You'll Do
  • Track, analyze, and control project costs for EPC energy and utility infrastructure projects, including transmission, substations, renewables, and utility construction work

  • Maintain and analyze budget vs. actuals
    , forecasts, and cost trends across multi-year projects

  • Develop and update Estimates at Completion (EAC) and Estimates to Complete (ETC)

  • Monitor cost deviations, trends, and risks
    , escalating potential issues early to project leadership

  • Support change management
    , including change orders, budget transfers, and cost impacts

  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Operations Directors, and technical teams to align financial performance with execution plans

  • Prepare clear, accurate cost reports, dashboards, and forecasts for internal leadership and external stakeholders

  • Support Project Controls Execution Plans and ensure adherence to company standards and procedures

  • Utilize systems such as JDE, Eco Sys, Procore, Excel, and Power BI to support job cost tracking and reporting

  • Serve as a trusted cost resource for assigned projects, contributing to continuous improvement in cost control practices

What You'll Bring
  • 4+ years of project cost control or project controls experience within EPC, construction, utilities, or energy infrastructure environments

  • Strong hands‑on expertise in cost forecasting, budget management, change management, and cost/risk trend analysis

  • Experience in project‑based capital environments (not manufacturing or corporate accounting)

  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with JDE and/or Eco Sys required, Procore preferred

  • Ability to translate complex cost data into clear, actionable insights for project leadership

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • Willingness to travel up to 10% domestically
