Overview

We are seeking an Engineer 1 to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates and maintains electronic security services for federal, local and commercial customers.

• Develop project engineering deliverables, including systems and project requirements per client needs.
• Collaborate with clients, partners, vendors and internal teams to provide best‑in‑class solutions.
• Create high‑level system designs with required technical specifications.
• Prepare system analysis reports and design development documentation, including new builds and project drawings, specifications, technology product selection, installation sequence planning, and commissioning scripts.
• Use AutoCAD / Revit / Bluebeam for Block Diagrams, Riser Diagrams, Mounting and Wiring Details.
• Prepare and review simple electrical sketches, specifications and data sheets.
• Create project and device schedules with the Engineering Installation Design Packages.
• Create cable, device, and performance verification test plans.
• Use 2D CAD/BIM skills.
• Assist in development of specifications and installation details of construction materials and equipment.
• Assist other engineers in producing conceptual design to construction documents, including low‑voltage equipment layout, single and three‑line diagrams, grounding, and feeder routing.
• Assist in design reviews and checks.
• Participate in site surveys during all phases of projects.
• Participate in Pre‑Installation Testing and Checkout (PITCO) processes, including system programming, integration testing, and equipment build‑outs.
• Assist with calculations: power, heat, voltage drop, conduit sizing and bandwidth.
• Assist with development of MOP, SOP compliance matrices and other project support documentation.
• Interpret mechanical, special and other miscellaneous equipment schedules and logic narratives.
• Accurately estimate completion percentage of assigned tasks.
• Assist in the bids and proposals process to capture new work.
• Participate in new product evaluations and recommendations.
• Support and author white papers for technical knowledge sharing and collaboration.
• Contribute to engineering by proactively sharing technical knowledge and suggesting process improvements.

Ability to travel up to 10%.

• Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management or a related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. 0+ years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity, with the provision of SE services for physical security system and IT solutions.

• Strong oral, written and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated background working with multidisciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
• Strong MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills is a plus.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time.

Pay Range: USD $68,000.00 - USD $ /Yr.
