Position
Transportation Engineer – Columbus, OH
AMT is seeking a Transportation Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience to join our transportation team in Columbus, OH office. The role involves supporting a variety of projects including collection of data, existing condition and alternative analysis, engineering report development, horizontal and vertical alignment design, cross section and superelevation design, roadside barrier design, ADA curb ramp design, roadway modeling, and MOT/traffic related plans.
Qualifications- BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
- Minimum five (5) years relevant experience
- Ohio Professional Engineer (PE) licensure required or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
- Knowledge of civil engineering design concepts
- Experience performing design for roadway transportation projects including cost estimating, specifications and highway plans for construction bid packages
- Experience with transportation design standards
- Experience with Micro Station and Open Roads Designer (ORD)
- Prior work experience with ODOT; preferred:
City of Columbus, other state DOTs, and municipalities (plus) - Experience with ORD intersection and roadway corridor modeling (plus)
- Experience with AutoCAD, Civil3D (plus)
- Experience with GIS application such as ArcGIS or Google Earth (plus)
- Experience with SignCAD, Auto Turn (plus)
- Completion of various ODOT prequalification courses (plus)
- Experience with MS Office products (Word, Excel)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with coworkers, project managers, supervisors, and other team members
