Senior Project Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support capital projects and continuous improvement initiatives within a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for leading cross‑functional engineering projects that improve production efficiency, facility reliability, and overall plant performance.

The position plays a key role in managing end-to-end capital project execution, from scope definition through installation and commissioning. This is a highly hands‑on engineering role requiring strong technical judgment, project leadership, and the ability to work closely with internal stakeholders, contractors, and equipment suppliers.

• Lead end-to-end execution of manufacturing capital projects from scope definition to commissioning
• Develop project requirements, technical specifications, and execution plans
• Manage equipment procurement process including RFQs, vendor evaluation, and selection
• Oversee installation, startup, and final punch list completion for new or upgraded systems
• Support plant improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, safety, and reliability
• Apply root cause analysis and continuous improvement methods to resolve equipment/process issues
• Coordinate with maintenance, production, and external contractors during project execution
• Review engineering drawings and support layout/design modifications for plant systems
• Provide technical support during equipment breakdowns and troubleshooting activities
• Ensure projects meet cost, schedule, and performance targets

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 7–10+ years of experience in manufacturing, plant engineering, or capital projects
• Experience managing industrial projects involving equipment or facility systems
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems; basic electrical/control knowledge preferred
• Experience with contractor management and cross‑functional collaboration
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement tools
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
• Strong problem‑solving, communication, and project management skills
