Transportation Hydraulics Engineer – Ohio Offices
HDR invites applications for a Transportation Hydraulics Engineer to work on transportation projects and public transportation clients throughout the Midwest Region.
ResponsibilitiesThe primary duties include providing project engineering, task management, and project management for transportation projects. Responsibilities involve conducting hydrologic and hydraulic modeling; modeling and design of stormwater collection systems; stormwater management modeling and design; collecting, assimilating, and presenting data in reports, memos and public forums; leading production of design calculations and technical reports; preparing engineering plans and specifications for detention facilities, storm drains, flood control facilities, and other hydraulic structures.
The engineer works independently and also plans, organizes, and leads small to medium groups of professionals and technicians, conducts water resources planning, formulation, concept development, and develops planning documentation. The engineer assists in stormwater permitting efforts and leads teams in highway drainage design and plan production for ODOT and municipal clients, drainage analysis, and stormwater management design and permitting.
- 3+ years of experience in drainage engineering projects
- Strong leadership, planning, mentoring and staff management experience
- Technical proficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic design and analysis, modeling, and preparing drainage reports
- Previous work experience with an A/E/C firm
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent field
- Previous experience in water resources engineering projects
- Professional engineering license recognized in the location of the position (PE or P.Eng)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills

The expected compensation range for this position is $76,790 - $126,155.
