Project Scheduler
The Project Scheduler supports business developers and project managers by leading all aspects of project scheduling for EPC, Design-Build, and CMAR project delivery, with a strong focus on power delivery and water infrastructure. This role manages schedules for multiple concurrent projects and pursuits, ensuring accurate planning, integration, and reporting to support successful project execution.
Responsibilities
- Develop Linear Schedule Method (LSM) and Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules, including initial development, integration into master project schedules, and creation of cost-loaded resource assignments.
- Collaborate closely with pursuit and project leaders, engineers, estimators, procurement specialists, suppliers, and trade contractors to develop, baseline, and update project schedules using multiple formats and software tools.
- Create and maintain alignment between the work breakdown structure and the financial breakdown structure for pursuits and projects.
- Develop cost- and resource-loaded schedules, generate cash flow curves, and incorporate earned value metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) into schedule reporting.
- Support and challenge project teams to develop accurate productivity durations and optimize the sequence of work to improve schedule performance.
- Incorporate change management processes and activity progression updates into project schedules to reflect current project status.
- Assist with risk management by helping identify, qualify, and plan mitigation strategies for schedule-related risks.
- Identify, document, and perform schedule analysis and time impact analysis to assess delays, changes, and their impact on project timelines.
- Maintain sufficient and accurate scheduling documentation and ensure proper storage and organization of records.
- Demonstrate exemplary personal workflow processes and time management skills to handle multiple concurrent projects and pursuits effectively.
- Promote and drive short-interval scheduling practices among project leadership staff to improve field execution and coordination.
- Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures in all scheduling activities.
- Perform special projects and complete other duties as assigned or requested to support project and organizational objectives.
Essential Skills
- At least 5 years of experience developing resource- and cost-loaded schedules with familiarity in earned value metrics.
- Proficiency in using Primavera P6 for project scheduling, updating, and reporting.
- Competence in using schedule reporting tools and techniques for analysis and presentation purposes.
- Experience in project scheduling for high voltage, EPC, or other large capital projects such as oil and gas, water/wastewater, aviation, or similar industries.
- Strong understanding of Linear Schedule Method (LSM) and Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling techniques.
- Ability to develop, baseline, and maintain complex project schedules across multiple concurrent projects.
- Capability to integrate work breakdown structures with financial breakdown structures for accurate planning and reporting.
- Skill in developing cost and resource-loaded schedules and generating cash flow curves.
- Experience incorporating earned value metrics and Key Performance Indicators into schedule management.
- Strong analytical skills to perform schedule analysis and time impact analysis.
- Effective collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams including engineers, estimators, procurement specialists, suppliers, and trade contractors.
- Solid time management and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Scheduling experience in high voltage and EPC environments is preferred, with consideration given to candidates from other large capital project sectors such as oil and gas, water/wastewater, or aviation.
- Experience supporting risk management activities, including identification, qualification, and mitigation planning for schedule risks.
- Familiarity with short-interval scheduling practices and their application in field execution.
