We are seeking an experienced Engineering Project Manager to support our expanding Power Delivery team, which provides engineering and design services to major utilities and transmission & distribution clients. The role involves overseeing planning, coordination, and delivery of engineering work for transmission, substation, and distribution projects, collaborating with engineering staff, designers, and subcontractors to meet client expectations and program goals.
Responsibilities- Manage staff and activities across multiple projects; develop staffing plans and schedules to meet delivery schedules and task requirements.
- Lead and manage a team of Kiewit engineers and designers, ensuring readiness to execute and deliver project scope activities.
- Oversee the design team to meet scope, deliver high-quality deliverables on schedule, manage risk/changes, and control project budgets.
- Present ideas persuasively; gain support and buy‑in without demanding it; influence others toward desired actions.
- Facilitate work‑planning activities, oversee man‑hour development, quality management, and risk/changes.
- Implement project control measures and conduct periodic reviews to drive successful delivery performance.
- Develop action plans with timelines, involve stakeholders, incorporate best ideas, and secure buy‑in through effective communication.
- Maintain relationships with owners and design partners.
- Mentor and develop technical capabilities of design staff.
- 10+ years of industry experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience providing the required knowledge.
- Experience as Project Manager, Design Manager, or Engineering Manager, with responsibilities including engineering, estimating, contract management, and client relations.
- Knowledge of engineering and construction standards and processes, including scheduling, contracts, and coordination across disciplines.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Proficiency with project control and administration software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
$179,000/yr – $188,000/yr (actual compensation varies by education, experience, skill set, and location).
