What You Will Do:

Assist with testing of structural materials in a laboratory setting. Review Quality Control Plans, shop drawings, and mill certs. Respond to inquiries from external and internal customers. Assist with research and special projects and visit material suppliers, as necessary.

Qualifications

Valid certificate as Engineer-In-Training issued or accepted as equivalent by Ohio Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; 12 mos. exp. as Transportation Engineer 1, 85641.

-Or Bachelor's degree in engineering; valid certificate as Engineer-In-Training issued or accepted as equivalent by Ohio Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; 2 yrs. engineering related experience.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above may be substituted for the experience required, but not for the mandated registration.

Supplemental Information

This position is overtime eligible based on FLSA Standards. All bargaining unit new hires must serve a one (1) year probationary period. Position will be filled pursuant to the provision of the OCSEA/AFSCME Contract. The final candidate selected for this position will be required to undergo a criminal background check. An individual assessment of an applicant's prior criminal convictions will be made before excluding an applicant from consideration.
