The OpportunityIn this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Function as a technical specialist in conventional and advanced wastewater treatment
- Use processes such as physical/chemical primary treatment, conventional activated sludge, biological nutrient removal, fixed‑film processes, membrane bio‑reactors (M ), sidestream treatment, tertiary filtration, auxiliary wet‑weather treatment, and disinfection
- Develop and apply wastewater treatment and engineering techniques, concepts, and approaches to complex engineering problems for treatment of various wastewater with varying quality under supervision
- Focus on growing our rapidly expanding business in the Midwest and pursue diverse opportunities in wastewater as part of a team directing process design for projects worldwide for a global engineering firm

- Prepare a variety of complex engineering deliverables, including process models, mass balance calculations, design criteria and basis of design memoranda, process flow diagrams, P&IDs, tradeoff studies, and master planning studies
- Support multiple projects simultaneously with complex technical challenges
- Serve as a technical specialist, providing guidance to project teams in conventional and/or emerging wastewater treatment technologies
- Perform complex research, including applied research involving bench, pilot, and full‑scale testing to select or assess performance of treatment processes and integrate the data into process models
- Collaborate with the process team to develop recommendations for appropriate treatment processes, equipment, and/or materials selection
- Engage in collection, assimilation, analysis, and management of data for process modeling and design work
- Prepare process models and carry out complex engineering calculations following standard methods and principles
- Develop life cycle assessment, including conceptual‑level life cycle costs, and environmental and social benefits, to evaluate and select resilient treatment solutions
- Coordinate actively with internal and external team members for successful project execution
- Assist with identification of key client interests and drivers for ongoing projects and new business prospects
- Develop creative solutions and approaches to accommodate client goals and objectives
- Provide support to business development or pursuit activities, including pre‑positioning meetings, proposal development, client interviews, and identification of winning sales messages
- Attend and present on state‑of‑the‑art wastewater treatment projects and thought leadership ideas at local, regional, and national conferences
