, where your expertise will directly impact our success in winning and delivering airfield lighting applications & advanced weather systems for airports and aviation. You’ll play a pivotal role in developing accurate, competitive estimates, collaborating with Sales, Engineering, Product Coordination, Manufacturing, Project Management and field service teams, as well as shaping project strategy from initial proposal through project handoff. You will provide complete and accurate estimates for airfield lighting & weather system projects, assemble bid tabulations, and coordinate with vendors/subcontractors, project schedules, and support the sales team to deliver winning proposals on time. Your work will help ADB SAFEGATE continue to lead in airfield & aviation market!
You will make an impact by…- Reviewing project documents, including RFPs, specifications, addenda, and related materials.
- Identifying scope of work, project requirements, constraints, and potential risks.
- Collaborating with Sales, Engineering, Product Management, Manufacturing and Field teams to verify scope and develop project strategies.
- Performing precise material, labor and equipment takeoffs for airfield lighting & weather systems.
- Maintains current knowledge of market conditions and competitors and activities critical to the bidding process.
- Works proactively with Regional Sales Director to ensure that cost estimates support the requirements, schedules, and contract terms and conditions.
- Analyzes geographic territory, customer requirements, and competitive activity to develop sales offers and bids designed to achieve sales goals.
- Obtaining and evaluating subcontractor quotes; prepare RFQs as needed.
- Contacts airfield third party suppliers and installation contractors, prepares RFQs for these, evaluates offers and selects the right one for each occasion.
- Contacts customers/business partners for technical clarifications, active role for technical support to (end) customers before and during the sales acquisition phase.
- Identifying and addressing scope gaps, clarifications, exclusions, and inconsistencies in proposal documents.
- Providing technical product application assistance and value engineering input.
- Responding promptly to sales, contractor and customer inquiries, and providing technical clarifications.
- Ensuring compliance with codes, regulations, client requirements, and company standards.
- Completing and assembling bid tabulations, cost breakdowns, narratives, compliance matrices and supporting documentation.
- Maintaining organized estimate files, including notes, drawings, revisions, and correspondence.
- Participating in project handoff processes to Project Coordination, Project Management, Operations, and Service.
- Supporting the preparation of offers, bids, contracts, and other sales-related documents.
- Traveling to customer locations or trade shows as required, both within the United States and abroad. (approx. 10% travel, includes overnight stays).
- 2-5 years estimating related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Understanding of technical documentation, including CAD type drawings, plan sets, and contracts.
- Familiarity with the RFP process and required documentation.
