Geotechnical Project Manager - Pittsburgh, PA

Job Description

The Geotechnical Project Manager is responsible for performing a variety of testing, project‑specific observations, and site assessment duties under general supervision and/or from detailed controlled procedures. The role requires the ability to manage geotechnical projects, including field exploration, laboratory services, engineering analysis, report preparation, and technical review.

Responsibilities
  • Direct and execute one or all of the following geotechnical project assignments: field exploration, laboratory services, engineering analysis, report preparation, and report technical review.
  • Provide quality‑control review of proposals and reports and direct operations to consistently meet client commitments.
  • Actively participate in business development and marketing efforts while establishing and maintaining client relationships related to the technical aspects of assignments.
  • Mentor and train senior and junior professional staff.
  • Build relationships with professional and technical organizations.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering
  • 3+ years of progressive Geotechnical Engineering experience with active project‑management responsibility
  • Excellent communication, project‑management, and organizational skills
  • In‑depth understanding of Geotechnical Engineering and related disciplines, with the ability and desire to provide creative and practical solutions to meet client needs
  • Expected travel less than 5% of the time
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record (required)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification preferred
