Columbus, Ohio (open to travel)

$100,000 - $150,000 annually

Our client is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer based in Columbus, Ohio, to lead the planning, design, and execution of complex geotechnical engineering projects supporting critical infrastructure throughout the Midwest. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys combining technical expertise, project leadership, and mentorship while contributing to the successful delivery of bridges, dams, levees, and other high-impact civil engineering projects.

The Senior Geotechnical Engineer will play a key role in overseeing geotechnical investigations, field exploration programs, construction inspections, and report preparation, as well as mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. The position requires an active Professional Engineer (PE) license, excellent leadership and communication skills, and the ability to travel as needed for project and client requirements. Experience with DOT, transportation, or U.S. Army Corps of Engineers projects is highly desirable.

Lead geotechnical investigations, analyses, and design efforts for major infrastructure projects including bridges, dams, levees, and earth-retaining structures.

Oversee field exploration programs, construction inspections, and preparation of comprehensive geotechnical reports.

Review technical work products and provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and project team members.

Collaborate with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout all phases of project life cycles.

Support project pursuits through proposal development and occasional business development activities.

Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, and engineering best practices.

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Geological Engineering;
Master's degree preferred.

10+ years of geotechnical engineering experience supporting large-scale infrastructure projects.

Strong experience with dams, levees, bridge foundations, earth-retaining structures, or similar geotechnical systems.

Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the United States;
Ohio PE preferred.

Experience working on DOT, transportation, or U.S. Army Corps of Engineers projects is highly desired.

Excellent communication, leadership, and client relationship management skills.

Ability to travel occasionally for project and client needs.
