The Planet Group is currently seeking aMunicipal Project Manager for a growing company in thecivil engineering and infrastructure industry. Qualified candidates must have aBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, an active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Ohio, and 10+ years of civil engineering experience focused on site development and/or municipal infrastructure.

The Municipal Project Manager will serve as a key technical and project leadership resource, working closely with clients, engineers, technical staff, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on schedule and within budget. • Manage civil engineering projects from planning and design through construction.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring successful project delivery and strong long-term relationships.
• Lead project teams, including engineers, designers, and technical staff across multiple offices.
• Oversee project scope, schedule, budget, and overall project performance.
• Serve as Engineer of Record when applicable and ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and permitting requirements.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and other technical disciplines.
• Review engineering plans, specifications, reports, and project deliverables for quality and compliance.
• Support site development and municipal infrastructure projects, including roads, utilities, drainage, grading, and related infrastructure.
• Support proposal development, fee preparation, client presentations, and business development activities.
• Participate in client meetings, project reviews, and construction-related activities.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineering staff.
• Contribute to the continued growth and development of the Columbus office and surrounding Ohio markets.
• Maintain a collaborative environment focused on technical excellence, quality, and client satisfaction.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Ohio required.
• 10+ years of civil engineering experience, with a focus on site development and/or municipal infrastructure.
• Demonstrated experience managing civil engineering projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong client communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Familiarity with Ohio permitting processes, codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong understanding of project scope, scheduling, budgeting, and resource management.
• Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a collaborative environment.
• Interest in contributing to the continued growth of the firm’s Columbus and surrounding Ohio markets.
