Position SnapshotThe front desk/host positions require a strong communicator who will guide guests through their retail, game rental, and dining experiences. The role serves as an ambassador to the building, greeting guests with enthusiasm and coordinating game rentals, merchandise sales, and phone use.
Responsibilities- Smiles and greets guests upon entering.
- Maintains communication with the supervisor regarding any problems or unusual matters and takes corrective action or suggests alternatives.
- Bids farewell to departing guests, ensuring satisfaction and encouraging return visits.
- Prepares for the shift by stocking supplies such as menus, silverware, power cards, and gift cards.
- Reviews cleanliness and organization of the front desk and host station, ensuring all menus are stocked and maintained.
- Conducts merchandise inventory during and after shift, as applicable.
- Nurtures a cooperative working relationship with other team members to promote team morale, productivity, and efficiency.
- Notifies management of any unhappy guests and assists with resolution.
- Assists other team members as needed to support business operations.
- Drives table turn timing by scouting open tables, bussing and cleaning tables as necessary.
- Rotates seating in accordance with guidelines to ensure fairness and balance in dining areas.
- Manages flow from the front doors, efficiently helping guests with needs and directing as needed.
- Manages wait times and communicates information to guests, team members, and managers.
- Delivers silverware to guests as they are seated.
- Performs timely and accurate bill calculations and transaction processing.
- Processes “to go” orders and ensures accuracy.
- Handles front desk merchandise sales, if applicable.
- Prior experience in a restaurant, retail, or cashier role preferred, but not required.
- Strong communicator with a friendly, smile-oriented demeanor.
- Must be able to read and communicate in English and articulate clear greetings, requests for assistance, and farewells.
- Must demonstrate the ability to calmly respond to dissatisfied guests and report issues to management.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Should be dressed in accordance with company dress guidelines: neat, clean, and professional.
- Work days, nights, and/or weekends as required.
- Work in a noisy, fast-paced environment with distracting conditions.
- Read and write handwritten notes.
- Lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
- Move about the facility and stand for long periods of time, walking or standing 100% of the shift.
- Reach, bend, and stoop frequently.
