The Franklin County Auditor’s Office is seeking a Licensing Specialist to join the Consumer Services team.
Who are we?The Franklin County Auditor’s Office is dedicated to serving the community by ensuring fairness and accuracy in weight and measures across the county. Our mission is to protect and empower consumers, making sure they receive what they rightfully pay for at gas pumps and retail store scanners. In addition to these important responsibilities, we assess property values to determine fair property taxes, while also working to provide tax relief for senior and citizens who are disabled. What will you do?Issues all licenses sold to the public by the Auditor’s office (e.g., vendor, dog, junk, cigarette, etc.); verifies that all required information needed to issue license is correct and complete (e.g., owner, name, address, type of business, fee collected, rabies shot, etc.); balances and reconciles as needed all receipts (money) daily; orders, stuffs, and seals dog licenses.
Processes dangerous dog, assistance dog, police dog, and junk yard applications; verifies completion and accuracy; collects funds owed for all applications.
Assists with immunization clinics where dog licenses are sold onsite (e.g., gathers supplies; sets up; tears down; verifies applications; issues licenses; collects funds owed, etc.).
Handle customer inquiries and requests by telephone, mail, and in person.
Acts as backup to the Homestead Front Desk by handling customer inquiries and requests by telephone, mail, and in person; may act as backup to the Homestead division (e.g., prepares documents for scanning; scans and indexes records; verifies records, etc.).
Who should apply?We encourage individuals with completion of secondary education or equivalent (high school diploma or GED); six (6) or more months of related experience and/or training; or any combination of training, education, or experience which provides the desired knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
Must possess and maintain valid Ohio driver's license and have an acceptable driving record; must comply with the FCAO Driving Policy.
