Event Staff Supervisor

The Ohio State University's Business Advancement department, specifically Schottenstein Center Guest Services Administration-JM, is seeking an Event Staff Supervisor. This role involves providing excellent guest service to fans attending Ohio State events, scheduling event staff during assigned athletic or special events, verifying attendance of staff, and completing timesheets for events. The supervisor will attend annual operations meetings for assigned sports, participate in emergency drills, provide direct supervision to assigned crew of event staff, ensure excellent guest service is provided to guests, act as a second level of support to event staff to resolve guest issues, provide direct coaching and training to staff, ensure staff comply with policies and procedures, scanning, counting and checking tickets, conducting security screening of guests, directing and assisting guests to their seats or to find other amenities provided inside the facility, directing and assisting guests to services outside of the facility, assist with the enforcement of NCAA, Conference, University, and Athletic Department rules and regulations, recognize and check credentials, limit access to restricted areas of facilities, and be an expert of and an advocate for Ohio State Athletics & the Schottenstein Center.

Qualifications include being 18 years of age or older, having a minimum of 3 years of experience as an event staff member or equivalent, experience managing others, the ability to stand on your feet for 4 hours or more, indoors and outdoors, rain or shine, maintaining a positive attitude at events at all times, focusing on listening and satisfying guests, maintaining and supporting open communication with Event Management staff, an interest in working with guests and fellow staff of varying backgrounds, excellent verbal communication skills, and excellent problem solving ability.
