Position: Controller  $150-175k plus 15% bonus

Our client has engaged us to find their next Controller. This person will need to have come from a company where they saw the entire Accounting function as opposed to coming from a larger company and was responsible for a piece of it.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze financial results, key performance indicators (KPIs), and variances to budget/forecast.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to business leaders.
  • Help in the development of annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and long-range financial plans for the business unit.
Reporting
  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior management.
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Maintain internal financial reporting systems and dashboards.
  • Review and post accounting
  • Business Partnering:
  • Act as a financial advisor to the business unit leadership team.
  • Partner with AR Manager and Operations to monitor billing and collection efforts.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations and other departments.
  • Support strategic initiatives with financial modeling and impact analysis.
Cost Control & Profitability
  • Monitor operational costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Analyze margins, pricing, and product profitability.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial performance.
Compliance & Controls
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, GAAP standards, and external regulations.
  • Review financial journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Provides support on various ad-hoc tasks as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).
  • CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification are highly desirable.
  • 10-15 years of progressive financial experience, with at least 5+ years in a leadership/controller role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and cost control.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
