Our client has engaged us to find their next Controller. This person will need to have come from a company where they saw the entire Accounting function as opposed to coming from a larger company and was responsible for a piece of it.
Responsibilities- Analyze financial results, key performance indicators (KPIs), and variances to budget/forecast.
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to business leaders.
- Help in the development of annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and long-range financial plans for the business unit.
- Prepare and present financial reports to senior management.
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Maintain internal financial reporting systems and dashboards.
- Review and post accounting
- Business Partnering:
- Act as a financial advisor to the business unit leadership team.
- Partner with AR Manager and Operations to monitor billing and collection efforts.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations and other departments.
- Support strategic initiatives with financial modeling and impact analysis.
- Monitor operational costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Analyze margins, pricing, and product profitability.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, GAAP standards, and external regulations.
- Review financial journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Provides support on various ad-hoc tasks as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).
- CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification are highly desirable.
- 10-15 years of progressive financial experience, with at least 5+ years in a leadership/controller role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and cost control.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
