Senior Investment Analyst – External Public Markets (Columbus, OH)

Our External Public Markets team is seeking a Senior Investment Analyst to support all aspects of investment and portfolio management. The Investment Analyst will apply strong critical thinking and analytical skills to develop portfolio insights, analyse portfolio construction, and make investment recommendations. This position provides the opportunity to apply a strong analytical background to reviewing investments and performance of many of the top-performing investment managers around the globe.

In this role you will be directly involved in sourcing new investment managers, monitoring existing strategies and providing investment insights to senior leadership. You will be exposed to all public market asset classes and expected to add value through in-depth investment analysis and portfolio construction. You will have primary investment portfolio coverage responsibilities which will require excellent communication and relationship-building skills with all internal and external parties.

• A bachelor's degree with a master's or MBA being preferred
• At least five years of experience working with external investment managers or direct management of investment portfolios
• Three years of experience with Liquid Alternative Strategies (Trend Following, Alternative Risk Premia, Multi-Strategy, Macro, etc.)
• Have an aptitude for understanding financial information
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as mathematical operations, probability and statistical inference, test reliability validity, analysis of variance and correlation techniques
• CFA Preferred
• The ability to become licensed as a State Retirement System Investment Officer (SRSIO) within six months of hire and to abide by the OPERS Personal Trading Policy is required
