The asset management team is responsible for managing and monitoring a multi‑billion‑dollar loan portfolio secured by real estate properties located across the United States. To be successful in the role, excellent analytical, problem‑solving, communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills are required. Desired experience includes a commercial real estate background with an emphasis in the interpretation of loan documents, analysis of operating statements, and the ability to prioritize assignments in an effective manner to support both internal and external stakeholders/customers.

The Real Estate Deal Analyst - Investment Analyst position is primarily responsible for supporting the analysis and underwriting of Commercial Mortgage loans. The role will assist with the preparation of various market reports, portfolio analysis, financial analysis and modeling, along with investment recommendations for management evaluation and portfolio surveillance and monitoring.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities
  • Supports Regional Portfolio Manager (ie. Real Estate Portfolio Manager) and senior management to identify, underwrite, structure, and negotiate real estate investments.
  • Assist with underwriting real estate deals which includes one or more of the following: site analysis, market analysis, and financial analysis and modeling, borrower, business plan, exit strategy, etc.
  • Support the negotiation of real estate deal terms under the direct guidance of senior staff taking into consideration pricing, credit parameters, and structure.
  • Assist with preparing investment recommendations.
  • Support interactions with internal and outside legal counsel, as well as borrowers to support real estate deal closings. May include reviewing transaction documents and other due diligence items and raising any issues to more senior staff.
  • Develop working relationship with mortgage correspondents, brokers, and existing and potential borrowers.
  • Support Real Estate Portfolio Managers to assess opportunities in various markets and asset classes.
  • Assist peers with subsequent updates of loan information in the loan management system and other subsequent database or website related systems.
  • Support the preparation of various market reports, portfolio analysis, and statistical data for management evaluation.
  • Work with Real Estate Research, Loan Servicing/Asset Management and Real Estate Risk teams.
  • Assist in portfolio surveillance, portfolio monitoring and risk mitigation.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
