Job DescriptionThe Ohio Department of Taxation is responsible for the administration of individual and business taxes across the state. The Ohio Department of Taxation is seeking one (1) Tax Examiner in the Tax Equalization - Valuation Division.
What You’ll do as a Tax Examiner:- Gain hands‑on experience with modern data systems by running sales ratio studies using the DTE Modernization system.
- Play a key role in statewide property tax processes by preparing and distributing reports to our partners at the county.
- Utilize advanced Excel skills through data comparison and discrepancy identification between multiple datasets.
- Support decision‑making by organizing and documenting findings for use by management.
- Collaborate with experienced professionals in property appraisal and compliance, learning industry standards.

Qualifications- Undergraduate core program in business related field or public administration which included 3 courses in accounting; 15 months experience in customer service.
- 12 months experience as a Tax Examiner Associate, 66811.
- Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
- For positions performing audits per the approved Position Description on file, qualifications are established in accordance with O.R.C. 5703.17.
- Must provide own transportation unless State vehicle is provided.
