Senior Accountant

This role is a blend of general ledger accounting, AR oversight, and treasury responsibilities, including cash forecasting and transaction management. The position offers direct exposure to leadership and a clear path toward full ownership of a trial balance as the business continues to scale. Responsibilities:
Support and lead components of the monthly and annual close, including preparation and posting of journal entries. Own and reconcile assigned general ledger accounts, including operating cash, client liability accounts, AR, and expense accruals. Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances in a timely manner. Review subsidiary financial results to ensure completeness, accuracy, and GAAP compliance. Assist in preparing internal financial statements and supporting schedules for management review.

Manage accounts receivable activities, including aging analysis, invoice uploads, credit memos, and high-volume cash applications. Reconcile bank accounts daily and monthly, ensuring proper tracking of operating and client funds. Reconcile client liability accounts in a pass-through environment and resolve discrepancies. Prepare and support weekly cash flow forecasts, partnering with leadership on liquidity planning. Execute treasury-related functions, including manual ACH transactions and intercompany fund movements.

Support budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis. Assist with external audit preparation, including documentation and reconciliations. Contribute to ERP optimization efforts and process improvements as operations scale. Partner cross-functionally with Compliance, Risk, and Merchant Services to ensure accurate transaction accounting within a regulated environment.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required. 4+ years of progressive accounting experience. Strong foundation in general ledger accounting and full month-end close. Experience managing reconciliations in a high-volume transaction environment. Exposure to treasury functions or cash forecasting preferred. ERP experience required;
Net Suite preferred. Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capability. Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a growth-stage company.
