Financial Analyst, Financial Reporting
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Analyst to support financial planning, reporting, and operational decision-making within a manufacturing environment. This role will partner closely with operations, supply chain, production, and leadership teams to analyze financial performance, identify cost-saving opportunities, improve profitability, and support strategic business initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial analysis skills, a solid understanding of manufacturing processes, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Prepare and maintain annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
- Analyze monthly financial results and explain variances between actual, budgeted, and forecasted performance.
- Develop financial models to support strategic business decisions and capital investment opportunities.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Analysis
- Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs, including labor, materials, overhead, and inventory.
- Evaluate production efficiency, yield, scrap, and utilization metrics.
- Support standard cost development and maintenance.
- Analyze product profitability and recommend opportunities for margin improvement.
- Partner with operations teams to identify and implement cost reduction initiatives.
Reporting & Business Intelligence
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial and operational reports for management.
- Develop dashboards and KPIs to track manufacturing performance.
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as requested by leadership.
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity across financial reporting systems.
Operational Support
- Collaborate with production, procurement, supply chain, and engineering teams to evaluate operational performance.
- Support inventory management initiatives through analysis of inventory turns, obsolescence, and carrying costs.
- Assist in evaluating new product launches, pricing strategies, and capital expenditures.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and profitability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- MBA, CPA, CMA, or other professional certification preferred.
- 2–5 years of financial analysis, FP&A, cost accounting, or manufacturing finance experience preferred.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
- Understanding of standard costing, inventory accounting, and manufacturing operations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial modeling.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Net Suite, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or SQL preferred.
- Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Ability to interpret large data sets and provide actionable recommendations.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
