The Senior Payroll Tax Accountant within the Bath & Body Works Payroll function is responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable Federal, Provincial, State and Local tax requirements for the US, Canada and Puerto Rico and ensuring the timely and accurate statutory payments and filings.
Responsibilities- Partner with ADP to ensure timely and accurate payments of biweekly, quarterly and annual tax liabilities and return filings for US, Canada and Puerto Rico, including W2s and T-4s
- Prepare payroll tax journal entries for all business entities timely and accurately
- Prepare and distribute various accounting and tax related reports to key business partners including ad‑hoc requests for information or analysis
- Collaborate with internal and external business partners, use expertise and knowledge to evaluate tax implications and risk of proposed business initiatives, advise on process improvement and ensure compliance
- Gather data, perform research and analysis during audits, ensure accurate reporting, identify potential challenges, advise on appropriate tax alternatives
- Manage analysis of all tax inquiries and notices in a timely manner, including state jurisdictions, federal government, and local taxing authorities and Canadian provinces
- Research and respond to associate payroll tax inquiries; handle associate tax changes as applicable
- Maintain up to date knowledge of payroll tax regulations to ensure compliance and work with management to design and implement changes
- Identify process improvement opportunities and implement enhancements
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Payroll Tax and Accounting
- Working knowledge of multistate US, Canada and Puerto Rico payroll
- Experience with Oracle HCM, ADP Smart Compliance, CICPlus, Blackline and SAP Financials is preferred
- Excellent customer service and written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated initiative and drive to achieve results and goals
- Demonstrates strong analytical skills, including experience analyzing data and making recommendations based on analysis
- Ability to execute tasks in a thorough, composed, accurate and timely fashion while managing multiple, competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment
• Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Accounting or Finance
