Summary
The Director – Corporate, Specialty and Government PM is a senior portfolio management role. The Director is responsible for managing a portfolio of commercial loans within the Corporate, Specialty and Government Banking division. Primary responsibilities include underwriting quality, portfolio monitoring, and portfolio administration for an assigned portfolio. The Director frequently collaborates with internal partners — Relationship Management, Credit Administration, Capital Markets, Treasury Management, and other product partners — to optimize customer relationships.
A Director level colleague is generally viewed as a subject matter expert in the industry they cover.
- Underwrite complex commercial loans in accordance with Huntington credit policies.
- Monitor a portfolio of commercial loans, proactively identifying emerging risks and exploring training and remediation opportunities.
- Administer portfolio activities, including management of delinquencies, collateral exceptions, borrowing base and covenant compliance, and product renewals.
- Attend client calls (virtual or in-person) with Relationship Management and other bank partners; act as the secondary bank contact for the portfolio of covered clients.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market and industry trends; conduct industry and market research using available resources.
- Assist with training and/or mentoring Analyst, Associate and Associate Director level colleagues.
- Provide accurate and timely front‑end guidance to Relationship Management colleagues, drawing upon knowledge of Huntington credit policies and credit culture.
- Review and negotiate credit documentation in consultation with legal counsel.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 8+ years of experience in an underwriting or commercial banking environment
- Formal credit training
- Experience in the syndicated loan market
- Proficiency in S&P Capital IQ
- High level of professionalism and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Microsoft Excel
Exempt Status:
Yes — not eligible for overtime pay.

Compensation Range: $93,000.00 – $ Annual Salary. Actual compensation varies by location, experience, and education. Eligible for an incentive compensation plan.
