Finance Associate – Annuity Product
As a Finance Associate, you will represent Finance on projects that build new or enhance annuity products and their related guarantees, investment options, and other features.
In this role you will work closely with IT, Legal, Compliance, Marketing, Operations, and other Finance areas to launch system functionality that supports these offerings.
The focus is on the mathematical and logical components needed to support annuity product offerings, including requirement elicitation, testing support, defect resolution, system parameter customization, and accuracy testing.
You will also help manage tools that drive product sales illustrations and support the call center in serving existing customers, and assist with production defects, service recovery, and annuity calculation questions.
Qualifications:
strong background in mathematics, annuity line of business, and/or information systems/computer programming; keen to learn, strong communication skills, and collaborative mindset.
Location:
Columbus, OH (remote internal candidates may be considered).

Compensation Grade: F3
Key Responsibilities- Provide calculation and logic support on annuity projects; knowledge sharing, scenario creation, requirement clarifications, configuration, testing, defect management.
- Support annuity illustration tools—create tools, enhance tools, or test third‑party tools.
- Develop or modify tools that assist Operations or Call Center associates with complex calculations.
- Analyze and support defects identified by IT, Operations, or Finance; write queries to find impacted contracts and guide system solutions.
- Address calculation questions for annuity products and guarantees; analyze and communicate clearly to internal or external parties.
As a Technical Specialist, you will gain thorough knowledge of actuarial functions for NF products and perform increasingly sophisticated actuarial methodologies for rate making or valuation.
Key Responsibilities- Compile, categorize, and analyze data with limited supervision.
- Assist in building sophisticated testing tools and analyzing product calculations and illustrations.
- Maintain and execute financial, actuarial, projection, and valuation models.
- Conduct financial reporting and analysis.
- Support pricing and implementation of products.
- Analyze risks for NF lines of business.
- Assist with valuation/reserving under statutory, GAAP, and tax regimes for products.
- Analyze reinsurance opportunities.
- Support data governance, data strategy, data modeling, manipulation, and requirements elicitation.
- Assist in design, development, and implementation of new programs or modifications to existing applications, including coding and test plans.
- Build supporting documentation and communicate recommendations to leadership.
Financial Director – Actuarial or other financial/actuarial management.
Typical Skills and ExperiencesEducation/Knowledge: Undergraduate degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics or related background requiring modeling, programming or quantitative analysis.
License/Certification/Designation: May have passed actuarial, LOMA or other industry exams; may hold IT certifications.
Experience: Generally 2–4 years of financial, actuarial or relevant experience.
Knowledge, Abilities and
Skills:
General knowledge of finance/actuarial business functions, statistical analysis methods, financial/actuarial models, finance/actuarial software, programming languages or databases. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including VBA), programming languages and actuarial models. Basic customer focus, business perspective, accounting. Proficient problem solving, handling ambiguity, drive for results, learning on the fly.
Other criteria such as leadership skills may take precedence.
