Position Overview
Encova Insurance is hiring an Intern, Actuarial (Reserving) for our Columbus, Ohio corporate office. This is a full‑time summer internship for 2026 requiring at least 40 hours per week. The internship follows a hybrid schedule with days in the office each week. Must be currently enrolled and have completed at least 60 credit hours at an accredited college or university. The pay rate is $22.00 per hour.
ResponsibilitiesAs an intern in our Actuarial division (Reserving), you will work side‑by‑side with experienced actuaries to translate classroom knowledge into practical experience. You will receive hands‑on training, support actuarial teams on projects, and learn how to apply actuarial techniques in a real business environment.
Desired Qualifications- Strong mathematical and technical aptitude
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to convey technical information to non‑technical audiences
- Sophomore and junior level candidates preferred
- One to two actuarial exams desired
- Must be actively enrolled and pursuing a degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance, or data science
- Proficient in Microsoft applications
- Detail oriented
- Strong communication skills
Interns must reside and work within the following U.S. states:
Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin.
