The Ohio Office of Budget and Management (OBM) is the fiscal backbone of the State of Ohio. OBM works with the Governor and every state agency to provide policy analysis, fiscal research, and financial management services. This position assists the OBM Financial Support Services (FSS) section, a business processing center that processes common administrative transactions for state agencies and business suppliers.
Responsibilities- Update and maintain supplier information, including name, address, contact details, and tax identification.
- Set up and maintain electronic funds transfers (EFTs) for suppliers and Medicaid providers.
- Process 1099 forms and IRS levy and release of levy notifications.
- Generate and issue IRS B‑Notices.
- Review and audit travel and expense reports, authorizations, and receipts for compliance with State of Ohio and FSS policies.
- Ensure travel claims comply with General Services Administration (GSA) lodging and per‑diem rates.
- Process travel reimbursements and manage travel‑related financial transactions.
- Process and pay approved invoices accurately and on time.
- Maintain payment controls, segregation of duties, and prevent duplicate, erroneous, or fraudulent payments.
- Reconcile accounts and support financial reporting.
- Manage payment inquiries and supplier payment issues.
- Provide cross‑functional support within the FSS center, interacting with Accounts Payable, Supplier Operations, and Contact Center functions.
- 18 months of experience in accounting, auditing, finance, business administration, or related field, or financial call center work in private sector or other governmental sector.
- Or completion of associate core coursework in accounting, auditing, finance, business administration, or related field.
- Or equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, ability to work independently and in a team, flexibility.
Position is hybrid; work in office every other Friday and attend periodic meetings. Must live in Ohio or be willing to relocate. No work authorization sponsorship provided.
