Nationwide Financial is seeking a highly technical Actuarial Consultant to join our Annuity Inforce Management team. The role supports the long‑term management of Nationwide’s annuity products, combining hands‑on actuarial work with business‑partnering responsibilities. The incumbent will help build reporting capabilities and modernize rate‑setting infrastructure.

In this role you will execute annuity rate setting, perform profitability analysis, develop visualizations, and support the modernization of rate‑setting and profitability processes. You will also maintain regulatory compliance for non‑guaranteed elements and advance in‑force profitability measurement.

• Execute annuity rate setting for Fixed, Indexed, RILA, SPIA, and VA general account products.
• Collaborate with Business Development partners to balance competitiveness and profitability.
• Perform quarterly new‑business profitability analysis.
• Develop and communicate visualization of profitability results to management and the CFO.
• Create visualizations for in‑force performance metrics such as policyholder behavior, product feature utilization, and sales demographics.
• Support advancement of in‑force profitability measurement.
• Modernize rate‑setting and profitability processes – automate execution, develop controls, and improve speed.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory standards for managing non‑guaranteed elements.
• Develop infrastructure for rate setting and profitability analysis for new products.
• Execute special projects as needed.
• Maintain relationships with business customers and build new relationships.
• Lead onboarding and training for new associates on standard work processes.
• Lead peer reviews to increase collaboration, ensure quality work, and drive innovation.

• Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA). Actively enrolled in the Actuarial Development Program; working toward FSA.
• Minimum 3–5 years of actuarial experience.
• Proficient in Excel; proficient in SQL.
• Experience with AXIS modeling (plus).
• Programming experience a plus; particularly Python, R, , and C#.
• Experience with Tableau and Power BI (plus).
• Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate effectively to non‑technical audiences.
• Knowledge of actuarial business functions, statistical methods, actuarial models, and actuarial software.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including VBA within Access and Excel.
• Demonstrated business understanding, problem solving, and customer focus.

The role is based in Columbus, OH, but qualified candidates who work remotely may be considered.
