A well-established nonprofit organization is seeking an experienced Sr. Accountant to join its finance team. The ideal Sr. Accountant will have strong financial reporting experience, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a collaborative environment.

Position Overview
The Sr. Accountant will play a key role in preparing financial statements, supporting the annual audit process, and assisting with the development of financial reports and disclosures. This position works closely with leadership and external auditors to ensure accurate and timely financial information.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Develop and maintain financial reports for leadership and stakeholders.
• Support the annual audit process by updating prior-year and current-year audit schedules and documentation.
• Prepare financial notes and supporting schedules using Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Create graphs and financial analyses within Excel for reporting purposes.
• Convert financial documentation to PDF format and upload information for external auditors.
• Assist with financial statement disclosures and note preparation.
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of financial reporting.

Required Qualifications

• Experience creating financial statements.
• Strong background in financial reporting.
• Experience preparing financial notes and supporting documentation.
• Previous audit support experience.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within a nonprofit environment.
• CPA designation or progress toward certification.
• Knowledge of nonprofit financial reporting practices.
