Role Overview
Managing Director, Captive Insurance Banking, is part of the Global Specialty Products team. This role focuses on business development and client relationship management in the captive insurance space.
Duties and Responsibilities- Pursue new client relationships and deepen existing client relationships within the Captive Insurance Banking space.
- Work with internal referral sources such as corporate bankers and develop relationships with external referral sources and market constituents through consultative selling and introductions to bank partners in the letter‑of‑credit division, trust department and treasury management organization.
- Lead a cross‑functional team in pre‑call planning sessions to produce robust client interactions.
- Maintain an updated qualified prospect list that aligns with the bank’s risk profile and manage a pipeline to proactively close opportunities.
- Identify and mitigate credit risks, recommend appropriate credit structures, and effectively articulate bank recommendations to clients and prospective clients.
- Optimize all customer relationships by generating revenue growth through cross‑selling applicable bank products.
- Provide senior leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (4+ years) in accounting, finance or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in Captive Insurance Banking or the captive insurance industry.
- 5+ years of experience developing deep relationships across the captive insurance industry.
- 5+ years of subject‑matter expertise in the Captive Insurance Industry.
- 5+ years of proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Master of Business Administration degree.
- Formal credit training and commercial banking underwriting experience.
- Willingness to become proficient with critical proprietary systems.
- Ability to analyze captive and reinsurer credit profiles and recommend appropriate letter‑of‑credit facility structures.
- Knowledge of captive insurance standby letter‑of‑credit facilities, reinsurance trusts and general treasury management depository products.
- Strong written, verbal communication and negotiation skills.
