The Financial Operations Analyst will be pivotal in managing the Center for Biostatistics' fiscal activities and ensuring compliance with regulations, laws, and reporting requirements. This position will work closely with the Center Administrator; however, it requires a proactive, independent individual with strong financial acumen and communication skills.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs the Financial Operations Analyst for the Center for Biostatistics, you will undertake a range of critical responsibilities to ensure the efficient management of the Center's financial resources and compliance with relevant regulations and reporting requirements. Your role will involve actively monitoring the Center’s earnings operation by independently pulling Workday reports and proactively suggesting fiscal process improvements and internal controls. Additionally, you will play a central role in managing Center billing processes and assisting with monthly reconciliation tasks, prioritizing accuracy and timeliness to provide reliable financial data for decision‑making purposes.
In conjunction with these duties, you will oversee asset tracking, costing allocations, PCard management, and support the administration of travel and expense reports. Providing technical and financial advice to Center leadership, you will contribute to revenue and expense budget development and ensure an understanding of financial reports to facilitate informed decision‑making. Meticulous attention to detail must be evident as you maintain accurate and reconciled accounts in the general ledger, adhering closely to financial principles and reporting schedules.
Furthermore, you will collaborate closely with the Center Administrator on various special projects, including budgeting, costing allocation management, Center billing/invoicing, and monthly financial reporting initiatives. Utilizing a proactive approach, the incumbent effectively engages with stakeholders, leveraging robust communication skills to cultivate productive relationships with the COM, CTO, GMOs, CCC, NCH, and PIs, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience, two (2) years of fiscal experience, preferably in a university, may also be considered.
Required QualificationsStrong analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience with MS Excel and MS Office are required. Experience with Workday is also strongly desired. The university will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.
