Corporate Finance Analyst – Senior
Location:
Columbus, OH office (Hybrid – 3 days/week in office)
The Corporate Finance team within Treasury operates in a fast‑paced environment responsible for managing NiSource’s internal and external financing needs. The focus is on efficiently funding growth strategy, supporting stakeholder commitments, and building collaborative relationships across the organization. The Analyst provides value‑added financial services, interprets financial reporting proposals, prepares analytical studies, develops comprehensive data reports, and offers expertise and reporting to reflect and manage financial matters accurately.
PrincipalDuties & Responsibilities
- Identify and understand issues, problems, and opportunities by comparing data from multiple sources and deciding on appropriate actions.
- Compile, organize, and format data, including qualitative analysis, for internal and external reporting.
- Research reporting issues, provide recommendations, and assist with adopting new reporting requirements.
- Recognize the impact of regulatory frameworks and rate‑case outcomes; support regulatory initiatives by preparing schedules, pro‑forma calculations, testimony, and data requests.
- Analyze regulatory documents and apply the regulatory construct to business decisions.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of financial statements, key metrics, and strategic initiatives, and utilize economic and industry data.
- Maintain understanding of the operating plan and the role of Finance & Accounting (F&A) departments; collaborate across business units to develop solutions.
- Commit to quality by fully and accurately documenting work; identify, analyze, and improve existing processes to increase efficiency.
- Support emergency operations as required for continuous service, performing tasks outside normal hours if necessary.
- Four‑year degree in a business discipline.
- Strategic modeling experience across the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement.
- Knowledge of PC applications; CPA preferred.
- 2–4 years of experience in finance, accounting, regulatory or related field.
- Multiple functional experience and financial acumen across interconnected statements.
- Continuous improvement mindset: originate actions, identify opportunities, and implement solutions.
- Data analysis skills: detect trends, associations, and anomalies from diverse sources.
- Time‑management capability to meet deadlines and quality standards.
- Networking proficiency to collaborate across finance and other NI areas.
- Quality orientation: produce error‑free processes and work products.
$82,200.00 – $ (based on skills, knowledge, and experience)
