The TeamThe Wealth Management Credit Platform Service Support Team is part of Private Banking (PB) Credit Platform Services. The Letter of Credit Center of Excellence (CoE) supports the documentation and issuance of Letters of Credit for Private Bank clients, ensuring adherence to operational and risk controls. The team partners with clients, front office, credit risk, and Global Trade teams to facilitate the timely and accurate issuance of Letters of Credit while delivering a seamless client experience.
Key Responsibilities- SBLC Lifecycle Execution:
Manage the end-to-end processing of Standby Letters of Credit (SBLCs)-including issuance, amendments, extensions, transfers, cancellations, drawings, and billing-while monitoring queues to meet established SLAs. - Documentation & Compliance:
Review customer applications and legal documentation for completeness and strict compliance with UCP 600, ISP
98, OFAC, KYC, and internal bank policies. - Credit Facility & Collateral Operations:
Validate collateral arrangements and credit approvals prior to issuance, ensuring facilities are accurately established, linked, and monitored within credit and trade systems. - Stakeholder Coordination & Exception Resolution:
Collaborate with Relationship Managers, Credit Officers, Legal, Compliance, and Trade teams to resolve operational exceptions, documentation discrepancies, and client inquiries. - Portfolio Risk & Control:
Maintain detailed audit trails, support periodic portfolio reviews (expiries, renewals, collateral sufficiency), and participate in internal audits, regulatory exams, and control testing. - Reporting & Process Improvement:
Generate operational metrics on transaction volumes and risk gaps, while identifying opportunities for workflow automation and standardization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, or a related discipline.
- 2-5+ years of experience in Credit Monitoring and review, Trade Finance, Letters of Credit, Banking Operations, Credit Operations,
- Strong understanding of Standby Letters of Credit, credit facilities and credit life cycle.
- Experience working in a controlled environment with a strong understanding of operational risk and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, plus Word and PowerPoint.
- Experience working with trade and credit systems.
