OH0713 NW Bancshares HQ Job Description The Executive Director, Portfolio Manager directly supervises the portfolio management teams covering the C&I and CRE portfolios. Additionally, the role oversees the reporting output from the portfolio management teams in the Cash Flow and SBA verticals of the commercial bank. Responsible for production and accuracy of 1st line reporting covering portfolio management deliverables. Ensures timely resolution of identified issues recorded in the Archer system assigned to Credit Management.

Serves as the voice of Credit Management in the Credit Risk Committee and regulatory interactions.

Essential Functions
  • Overall responsibility to lead and manage the C&I and CRE portfolio management teams and ensure the execution of all portfolio management responsibilities assigned to those teams.
  • Ensure underwriting product, including Annual Reviews and Modifications, are accurate and consistent with established content and format requirements and aligned with Credit Policy.
  • Ensure accuracy of 1st line of defense reports covering all commercial lines of business.
  • Present portfolio reports at the monthly Credit Risk Committee.
  • Ensure timely remediation of issues recorded in the Archer system assigned to Credit Management.
  • Ensure sustained satisfactory reviews by regulators, internal auditors, external auditors, and loan review for depth of underwriting, appropriateness of structure, identification of Policy Exceptions, and stress tested analysis of credits.
  • Ability to manage, mentor and develop skills of junior managers
  • Ensure staffing levels are appropriate in accordance with budget requirements and adherence to SLA expectations.
  • Identify and resolve problems or issues with escalation to executive manager as appropriate
  • Remain current on all banking rules and regulations relating to Credit Administration
  • Maintain the desired balance between growth, profitability, and credit quality
  • Recommend improvements to policies, procedures, and work flow to maximize efficiency and control costs
  • Identify potential for credit losses and proposing appropriate risk mitigants as appropriate

  • Navigate Microsoft Office Software, computer applications, and software specific to the department in order to maximize technology tools and gain efficiency

Safety and Health for Supervisors with Direct Reports
  • Provide leadership and positive direction for maintaining the safety and loss prevention program
  • Actively participate in and support employee participation in the safety and loss prevention program by ensuring that employees know how to properly report a safety issue, making sure that all accidents are promptly reported to Human Resources and documented, and ensuring that prompt action is taken whenever workplace hazards are identified
  • Help implement emergency procedures
