A growing private equity firm is seeking aSenior Financial Analyst to join its investment team. This is a high-visibility role that will work directly with senior leadership and have exposure across new investments, existing portfolio companies, and strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong financial modeling and analytical skills with the ability to evaluate businesses, identify key performance drivers, and translate complex financial information into actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities- Build and maintain detailed financial models to evaluate new and existing investments.
- Perform financial statement, valuation, cash flow, and return analysis.
- Assist with the evaluation and underwriting of potential acquisitions and investment opportunities.
- Conduct due diligence, including analysis of historical financial results, forecasts, working capital, and key business drivers.
- Monitor portfolio company performance and analyze results against budgets, forecasts, and investment expectations.
- Develop KPI reporting and identify trends, risks, and opportunities across portfolio companies.
- Prepare financial analysis, presentations, and investment materials for senior leadership and investment committee meetings.
- Perform scenario, sensitivity, and return analysis, including IRR and multiple-of-invested-capital analysis.
- Partner with portfolio company CFOs and finance teams on forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and other strategic initiatives.
- Assist with valuation updates and ongoing portfolio reporting.
- Support transaction activity, including acquisitions, add-on investments, financing, and potential exits.
- Work directly with senior members of the firm on ad hoc analysis and strategic projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- 3–6+ years of relevant finance, private equity, transaction advisory, valuation, corporate development, or FP&A experience.
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, valuation concepts, and business performance drivers.
- Experience building financial models from the ground up.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly to senior executives.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to operate in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Experience with LBO, DCF, and comparable-company valuation models.
- Exposure to M&A transactions and financial due diligence.
- Experience analyzing and working with portfolio companies.
- Power BI or other financial reporting/data visualization experience is a plus.
This position provides an opportunity to work directly with senior investment professionals and gain exposure to the entire investment lifecycle—from evaluating potential acquisitions through portfolio company performance and eventual exit. The Senior Financial Analyst will have significant visibility and the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility as the firm and its investment portfolio continue to grow.
