Senior Investment Analyst – High Yield Credit ( Hybrid – Columbus, OH )

At the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS), a 60-person investment staff manages a $1 29 billion portfolio of diversified assets across public and private markets. Our External Public Markets team is seeking a Senior Investment Analyst to support all aspects of investment and portfolio management. The Investment Analyst will apply strong critical thinking and analytical skills to develop portfolio insights, analyze portfolio construction, and make investment recommendations. This position provides the opportunity to apply a strong analytical background to reviewing investments and performance of many of the top-performing investment managers around the globe.

This position is responsible for performing in depth fundamental issuer and industry research on assigned sectors within the High Yield ratings spectrum. The analyst will work closely with the High Yield Portfolio Manager to find attractive investment opportunities and develop strategies that will assist the overall portfolio in its goal of beating the identified benchmark. Geographic focus will predominantly be on high yield issuers located in the United States.

• A bachelor's degree with a n MBA being preferred .
• At least five years of experience in investment analysis .
• Have an aptitude for understanding financial information .
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills .
• Ability to embrace and adapt to the ever-changing investment and organizational environment
• Ability to perform and understand higher order mathematics for economic, investment and portfolio management reports .
• Experience working with Bloomberg
• CFA Preferred
• The ability to become licensed as a State Retirement System Investment Officer (SRSIO) within six months of hire and to abide by the OPERS Personal Trading Policy is required
