Ohio Farm Bureau Federation is seeking an experienced
Finance Director of County Operations to provide financial leadership, oversight and support to County Farm Bureaus across Ohio.
This position plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy, consistency and integrity of financial reporting for County Farm Bureaus and other affiliated and contractual entities. The Finance Director of County Operations will serve as a trusted financial resource to county offices and organizational leadership, providing expertise in nonprofit accounting, tax preparation, payroll, financial controls and operational best practices.
The successful candidate will combine strong technical accounting knowledge with the ability to lead, train and collaborate effectively across a decentralized organization.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic leadership and oversight for financial record preparation and reporting for County Farm Bureaus and related entities.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation and filing of applicable federal tax returns, including Forms 990 and 990-EZ.

Books Onlineand Pro Series Professional, establishing standards, procedures and best practices for county financial operations. - Develop and lead financial training for County Farm Bureau offices and Organizational Directors to promote consistent procedures, compliance and operational efficiency.
- Conduct financial reviews of county records and assist with the preparation of documentation for audits and self-audit programs.
- Oversee biweekly payroll processing for County Farm Bureaus, including new hires, terminations, compensation changes and other payroll-related updates.
- Manage monthly, quarterly and annual payroll tax filings and reporting, ensuring compliance with applicable requirements.
- Support account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies and provide guidance on complex accounting and financial matters.
- Partner with the Chief Financial Officer to identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen internal controls and enhance financial transparency.
- Supervise and provide leadership to the Senior Accounting Assistant.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
- CPA or equivalent professional certification preferred.
- Significant accounting and financial management experience, preferably within a nonprofit association or similarly decentralized organization.

ProSeries Professionalor comparable professional tax preparation software. - Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles, financial reporting, payroll and financial controls.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze financial information, identify issues and develop practical solutions.
- Experience developing processes, establishing standards and improving financial operations.
- Ability to train and communicate financial concepts effectively to individuals with varying levels of financial expertise.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple offices and functional areas.
