Job OverviewOhio Department of Public Safety – Emergency Management Agency. The Emergency Management Analyst will formulate, revise and implement policies, coordinate response, collect and analyze disaster information, produce situational awareness reports, and support the State’s emergency response during disasters.
Responsibilities- Formulate, revise, and implement policies and procedures for establishing and maintaining situational awareness for specific hazards, events or disasters.
- Coordinate notification and response with local, state and federal emergency management and homeland security officials.
- Develop analyses on all aspects of disasters and potential hazards, collecting and researching information to determine potential hazard level.
- Develop, monitor, and analyze informational databases, spreadsheets and reports to assess the magnitude and scope of impacts of an emergency or disaster.
- Collect relevant disaster information via telephone, written correspondence and other communication mediums with State EOC partners at all levels of government.
- Monitor, collect, analyze and disseminate situational awareness information and reports (daily reports, incident reports and advisories) for the State of Ohio.
- 36 months experience conducting research and writing reports using operational, mathematical, analytical or statistical research techniques.
- Or completion of an undergraduate core program in homeland security, political science, criminal justice, emergency management, public health, international affairs or a related field, and 12 months experience applying the same research techniques.
- Equivalent minimum class qualifications as noted above.
Required LEADS certification and biannual renewal. Some positions must obtain and maintain Secret level federal security clearance. Travel may be required. Working hours may include nights, weekends and holidays.

Position requires obtaining a federal Secret level Security Clearance and background check including BCI fingerprint. The job is safety sensitive and subject to random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with DPS 501.24.
